Discovery Kids Gemstone Dig Kit

Today I will be reviewing the Discovery Kids brand Gemstone Dig Kit.

What it is/ does: This is a kit that allows you to excavate 11 real gemstones with the included mallet and chisel.

Features: This comes with one gemstone block, a wooden hammer and chisel, a plastic paintbrush, a pair of goggles, a magnifying glass, a ceramic streak plate, a poster, and instructions.

Pros: The gems are real, and there are instructions in both English and Spanish.

Cons: I do not know what the use of the streak plate is, it is very messy, and the goggles are pretty small for someone who is twelve or older, which is the recommended age.

Conclusion: Overall, this is great since it comes with real gems and wooden tools. However, it takes a while to dig, and can be pretty messy. So, I will be giving it 4 and 1/2 stars.
